BIO
Robin Bectel has been with New Venture Communications since early
2007 and brings more than 15 years experience in high-technology and
energy-related pr and marketing to her position as vice president.
As head of NVC’s east coast team, Robin
works on local and national clients in technology, venture capital
and clean tech.
She formerly worked in the energy efficiency industry with the North
American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), where she promoted
policies and programs relating to energy efficiency, clean and renewable
energy.

- Robin led the team at Miller/Shandwick that won a PR News Platinum
PR Award Honorable Mention for “MSN Hotmail: From Constant
Crisis to Critics’ Choice” in the Crisis Management Category.
- Director of Communications at North American Insulation Manufacturers
Association where she developed and managed a library of more than
200 publications, along with the association’s international
communications strategy around energy efficiency.
- Director of communications for TeleGea, a telecommunications software
startup.
- Group vice president at Shandwick International and Miller/Shandwick
Technologies where she ran the MSN Hotmail and LinkExchange accounts
along with Philips Semiconductors, Centigram Communications, Octel
Communications and PowerTV, along with a host of startup companies.
- Group affiliations: Robin served on the speaker selection panel for
the US Green Building Council's greenbuild conference, as well as on
several committees for the Alliance to Save Energy, including its program
committee for the Global Forum on Energy Efficiency. She was also a
member of the International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Partnership (REEEP). She has authored numerous articles on the need
for sound energy policy and on "greenwashing." She is a
recent member of the Women’s Council on Energy and Environment
(WCEEE) and a current member of Women in Technology (WIT).
